Beautifully set and costumed

We found the overall production (the opening night) to be quite engaging with some very strong performances. Michael Ball was terrific as the stern Dr. Sloper and Mike Shara was an excellent Morris. We had trouble with the tone of Catherine, the daughter (played by Tara Rosling). She seemed overly repressed and perhaps some different directing choices could have made a difference. Donna Belleville carried off the meddlesome aunt convincingly. The set, lighting and costumes were quite wonderful and all in all, it was a performance worth seeing. Reply |
