Will you like Shaw? What do people think of various plays? Professional reviews are available online and in the media once the show is officially open. However, in our experience, many critics often write reviews that do not match at all with the reaction of our guests.

So, for a more candid reaction, we ask for comments and reviews from the people who visit us! Jane and I go to all the plays and we will post a blog comment as soon as we have attended. You too can post your rating along with any comments you may have.

The Niagara region has become a wonderful wine destination in the last several years. There is now over 100 wineries and many of them are turning out excellent wine. Year-round, the wineries host many and varied events. Some of the most interesting and unique ones happen in the December to March time period, when the Shaw Festival is inactive.

These two sites have loads of info regarding the wineries, including events. See Wineries of Ontario or Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake is rich in history and home to the ever popular Shaw Festival, presenting extraordinary theatre from April through November. Tours and tastings are offered at many estate wineries so all can appreciate the area's deserved reputation for fine wines. Golf and miles of walking and bike trails await the active visitor. Just a short drive away, on an incredibly scenic road along the Niagara River, is one of the natural wonders of the world - Niagara Falls. We are looking forward to sharing with you some of our local experiences, especially those that are our area favourites.

The country feel, the clean air and the beautiful, historic surroundings of Niagara-on-the-Lake make it a wonderful place to live and visit. Yet we still enjoy many of the urban centre benefits of great theatre, along with fine food and great wine and the very interesting people that these attributes attract.

If you are a theatre buff, take a look at our blogs about the latest Shaw productions.
